GOLD 1H CHART ROUTE MAP & TRADING PLAN FOR THE WEEKHey Everyone,
Please see our updated 1h chart levels and targets for the coming week.
We are seeing price play between two weighted levels with a gap above at 3260 and a gap below at 3217. We will need to see ema5 cross and lock on either weighted level to determine the next range. EMA5 is lagging below 3306 so will need a close above and then below to confirm.
We will see levels tested side by side until one of the weighted levels break and lock to confirm direction for the next range.
We will keep the above in mind when taking buys from dips. Our updated levels and weighted levels will allow us to track the movement down and then catch bounces up.
We will continue to buy dips using our support levels taking 30 to 40 pips. As stated before each of our level structures give 20 to 40 pip bounces, which is enough for a nice entry and exit. If you back test the levels we shared every week for the past 24 months, you can see how effectively they were used to trade with or against short/mid term swings and trends.
The swing range give bigger bounces then our weighted levels that's the difference between weighted levels and swing ranges.

Gold Buy Call #XAUUSDGold has broken out of a key resistance level at, $3,265 with strong bullish momentum and above-average volume, confirming the breakout. This move is supported by rising RSI and MACD crossover, indicating strength in the trend. The breakout from the consolidation zone signals renewed investor interest, likely driven by macro uncertainty and safe-haven demand.
Traders can consider initiating long positions at current levels with a stop-loss and take profit levels defined in the charts.
GOLD Potential ReversalIt appears that we've reached a significant top in the market, with price action showing signs of a potential dump. Liquidity has been taken out at this level, and we are now looking at lower price targets, which align with the lines below, marking new liquidity points. These areas could serve as key support levels as the market tests them for further reaction.
The price structure suggests a possible drop to the target zones around 3,300 / 3,200 & 2970 where we could see renewed buying interest. Stay cautious as we approach these levels, as they may present opportunities for short entries ahead of the market correction.
Keep an eye on the evolving price action for further confirmations.
XAUUSD Channel Up intact and targeting the 1D MA50.Gold (XAUUSD) has been trading within a Channel Up since the October 30 2024 High and is currently on its latest technical Bearish Leg. The last pull-back tested the 1D MA50 (blue tend-line) before rebounding again.
As you can see the Low that this pull-back made was also on the 0.618 Fibonacci retracement level. On the current Bearish Leg, the 0.618 Fib is at 3155 and can make contact with the 1D MA50 within 1 week. That is our short-term Target, but depending on the Fed Rate Decision on Wednesday, it may be achieved earlier.

Gold can correct to support level and then continue to move upHello traders, I want share with you my opinion about Gold. After studying this chart, we can track the progression of Gold's price action from strong bullish momentum to its current consolidation. Initially, the market trended confidently inside an upward channel, with steady growth supported by the lower boundary of the channel and occasional corrections after touching the resistance line. Each pullback respected previous support zones, a strong signal of buyer control at the time. The most impulsive move came after the price exited the buyer zone, followed by a clean breakout above the resistance line of the channel. However, once the price entered the seller zone, we saw the momentum start to fade. A strong rejection occurred near the resistance level at 3370, which eventually triggered a series of lower highs and shifted the market into a more neutral, range-bound phase. Currently, Gold is trading inside a defined range between 3205 and 3370. The bottom of this range aligns perfectly with the buyer zone, which already acted as a strong support during the last decline. We can also observe the market beginning to show signs of reversal after tapping the zone again. Given the reaction from the support area and the structure of the range, I expect the price can bounce back and make another attempt to reach the 3370 resistance level, which is my TP1 for this scenario. GOLD recovers to initial target, confirmation point continuesOANDA:XAUUSD surged in the first half of trading on Monday (May 5), briefly surpassing the $3,270/ounce mark and marking a daily gain of more than $30. as uncertainty over U.S. tariffs spurred safe-haven flows, supporting gold prices. The Federal Reserve’s interest rate cut in June is also boosting the appeal of non-yielding gold.
Bloomberg reported on Monday that US President Donald Trump plans to impose a 100% tariff on all foreign-made films, which is not a huge deal, but it does escalate the trade war. "I am authorizing the Department of Commerce and the United States Trade Representative to immediately begin proceedings to impose a 100% tariff on all foreign-made films imported into the United States," Trump wrote on his Truth Social social media platform. "We want our movies made in the USA again!"
Gold prices have risen nearly 25% this year, hitting a record high above $3,500 an ounce in April, but have retreated in recent weeks. Bloomberg notes that factors driving gold’s recent rally include safe-haven buying fueled by Trump’s destructive trade and geopolitical policies, as well as speculative demand from China and buying by global central banks.
According to CME's "Federal Reserve Watch" on May 5: The probability of the Federal Reserve keeping interest rates unchanged in May is 96.8%, and the probability of cutting interest rates by 25 basis points is 3.2%.
The probability of the Federal Reserve keeping interest rates unchanged until June is 63.3%, the probability of cutting interest rates by 25 basis points is 35.6%, and the probability of cutting interest rates by 50 basis points is 1.1%.
Technical outlook analysis OANDA:XAUUSD
On the daily chart, gold is still bullish as the price action remains above the important support EMA21. At the same time, the price channel that is noted as the main long-term trend channel remains stable.
On the other hand, the Relative Strength Index (RSI) is also showing signs of weakness as it falls to approach the 50 level, which is noted as the closest support in terms of momentum.
Going forward, if gold rebounds above $3,245, it could rebound to the short-term target of $3,267, more than the 0.382% Fibonacci retracement level, and then the full price point of $3,300.
As long as gold remains within the price channel, its long-term trend remains bullish, but the risk of a deeper correction is when the 0.50% Fibonacci retracement level is broken below, once this level is broken below gold is at risk of further selling to $3,163 in the short term. This also means that technically gold is in an ideal support area for bullish expectations, long positions should be protected below the 0.50% Fibonacci retracement level.
In the coming period, gold has technical conditions that favor a bullish recovery, and the notable points will be listed as follows.

GOLD - WAVE 4 CORRECTION TO $2,800 (UPDATE)Gold starting the week with some bullish momentum. We've seen a 'BOS' to the downside, which is now being followed by a retest of a supply zone. This zone can either be around $3,317 (0.618% Fib) or higher around $3,400 zone (0.365% Fib).
Don't forget we're in a 'Wave 4 Correction' of the Elliott Wave Theory strategy. Wave 4 always has choppy price action to trap in late buyers & early sellers.
XAU/USD: NFP has come,What's Next? (READ THE CAPTION)By analyzing the gold chart on the 1-hour timeframe, we can see that after yesterday’s analysis, the price successfully rallied from $3231 to $3268. Once it reached that zone, selling pressure kicked in, and gold has since corrected down to $3239.
If gold stabilizes below $3257, we may expect further downside. The potential bearish targets are $3237 and $3221.
Keep a close eye on the $3209–$3220 zone, as price reaction there could be significant.

XAU/USD technical outlook: Gold price poised to challenge $3,350Gold price uptrend resumed as today’s price action confirmed a ‘bullish harami’ two-candle chart pattern, indicating that bulls are gathering steam. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) further confirmed the latter, as the RSI’s line aims upwards.
Therefore, traders will face key resistance levels like $3,350, followed by the $3,400 figure. If surpassed, the next stop would be $3,450 and $3,500. Conversely, if sellers drag XAU/USD spot price below $3,300, look for a test of the May 1 low of $3,202, ahead of the April 3 high turned support at $3,167.

WTI Crude oil Holds Support Despite OPEC Production IncreaseWTI crude was on the ropes Monday morning following another surprise production increase from OPEC+. Yet despite the weak start to the week, oil prices held above the April low despite the bearish headlines.
Given we've already seen a -15% decline over the prior eight days and a bullish divergence has formed, I suspect some bullish mean reversion is due. Bulls could seek a move to the $60 area, near the April VPOC. Note that the December 2023 low might also provide some resistance along the way.

Breadbasket Basics: Trading Wheat Futures🟡 1. Introduction
Wheat may be a breakfast-table staple, but for traders, it’s a globally sensitive asset — a commodity that reacts to geopolitics, climate patterns, and shifting demand from dozens of countries.
Despite its critical role in food security and its status as one of the most traded agricultural commodities, wheat is often overlooked by traders who focus on corn or soybeans. Yet wheat offers a unique combination of liquidity, volatility, and macro sensitivity that makes it highly attractive for both hedgers and speculators.
If you’re new to trading wheat, this guide gives you a solid foundation: how the wheat market works, who the key players are, and what makes wheat such a dynamic futures product.
🌍 2. Types of Wheat and Where It Grows
One of the first things traders need to understand is that wheat is not a single, uniform product. It’s a diverse group of grain types, each with its own characteristics, end uses, and pricing dynamics.
The major classes of wheat include:
Hard Red Winter (HRW): High-protein wheat grown in the central U.S. — used in bread and baking.
Soft Red Winter (SRW): Lower protein, used for pastries and crackers.
Hard Red Spring (HRS): Grown in the Northern Plains; prized for high gluten content.
Durum Wheat: Used for pasta, grown mainly in North Dakota and Canada.
White Wheat: Grown in the Pacific Northwest; used for noodles and cereals.
Each class responds differently to weather, demand, and regional risks — giving traders multiple ways to diversify or hedge.
Major global producers include:
United States
Russia
Canada
Ukraine
European Union
Australia
India
These regions experience different planting and harvesting calendars — and their weather cycles are often out of sync. This creates trading opportunities year-round.
🛠️ 3. CME Group Wheat Contracts
Wheat futures are traded on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT), part of the CME Group.
Here are the two key contracts:
o Standard Wheat
Ticker: ZW
Size = 5,000 bushels
Tick = 0.0025 = $12.50
Margin = ~$1,750
o Micro Wheat
Ticker: MZW
Size = 500 bushels
Tick = 0.0050 = $2.50
Margin = ~$175
Keep in mind that margins are subject to change — always confirm with your broker. Micro contracts are ideal for scaling in/out of trades or learning market structure without large capital risk.
📅 4. Wheat’s Seasonality and Supply Chain
Unlike corn or soybeans, wheat is planted and harvested across multiple seasons depending on the variety and geography.
In the U.S., winter wheat (HRW and SRW) is planted in the fall (September–November) and harvested in early summer (May–July). Spring wheat (HRS) is planted in spring (April–May) and harvested late summer.
Globally, things get even more staggered:
Australia’s wheat is harvested in November–December
Ukraine and Russia harvest in June–August
Argentina’s crop comes off the fields in December–January
This scattered global schedule means news headlines about one country’s weather or war (think Ukraine in 2022) can quickly shift sentiment across the entire futures curve.
📈 5. Who Trades Wheat and Why
Wheat is traded by a wide range of participants — each with their own objectives and strategies. Understanding their behavior can give you an edge in anticipating market moves.
Commercial hedgers:
Farmers lock in prices to protect against adverse weather or market crashes.
Grain elevators and exporters use futures to manage inventory risk.
Flour mills hedge their input costs to protect profit margins.
Speculators:
Hedge funds and CTAs trade wheat based on global macro trends, weather anomalies, or technical setups.
Retail traders increasingly use micro contracts to gain exposure to agricultural markets with lower capital risk.
Spread traders bet on pricing differences between wheat classes or harvest years.
🔍 For retail traders especially, micro contracts like XW open the door to professional markets without oversized exposure.
🧠 6. What Makes Wheat Unique in Futures Markets
Wheat is often considered the most geopolitically sensitive of the major grains. Here’s why:
Price can spike fast — even on rumor alone (e.g., export bans or missile strikes near ports).
Production risks are global — the market reacts not just to the U.S. crop, but to conditions in Russia, Ukraine, and Australia.
Storage and quality matter — protein levels and moisture content affect milling demand.
Unlike corn, wheat doesn’t have a single dominant industrial use (like ethanol). This means food demand is king, and food security often drives policy decisions that affect futures pricing.
📌 7. Summary / Takeaway
Wheat may not get as much media attention as corn or soybeans, but it’s a deeply important — and deeply tradable — market. Its global footprint, class differences, and sensitivity to weather and politics make it a must-know for serious agricultural futures traders.
Whether you're just starting out or looking to diversify your trading playbook, understanding wheat is an essential step. Learn its rhythms, follow its news, and respect the fact that every crop cycle brings a new story to the market.
