ADSK at a Pivotal Juncture: Bulls Defend the 270 Support ZoneThe most dominant feature here is the well-defined ascending channel that has been guiding the price since the lows of mid-2022. This structure suggests a controlled, systematic uptrend. The lower boundary of this channel has consistently acted as a floor, where buyers have stepped in with confidence. Conversely, the upper boundary has served as a ceiling, where sellers have taken profits. The width and consistency of this channel indicate a balanced, yet bullish, long-term sentiment. Now, let's layer in the horizontal zones, which are critical areas of "price memory." The 230 level is a classic example of a resistance-turned-support flip. For over a year, from late 2022 through 2023, this area acted as a major ceiling. You can see the price repeatedly tried and failed to break through. Once it finally cleared that level in early 2024, it became a new floor, which was successfully tested as support around mid-2024. This is a significant technical event that confirms a shift in market structure. The 270 level is the next major battleground. This zone was a key support area back in 2021 before the major downtrend. More recently, it acted as a point of resistance on the way up. The price is currently trading just above this 270 zone. Putting it all together: The current price action shows ADSK holding above the critical 270 support level, which is constructive for the bulls. However, it has recently pulled back after testing the upper half of the ascending channel. In essence, the chart presents a tug-of-war. The long-term trend, as defined by the channel, remains upward. The price is currently situated above a key horizontal support at 270, but it is also showing some exhaustion after failing to push toward the top of the channel. The immediate test will be whether buyers can defend this 270 area as a new base of support for the next leg higher. $ADSK to $340 in Early Q2NASDAQ:ADSK is already a 100-Bagger stock. A 16 year and 10 year linear regression channel show nearly identical baselines for NASDAQ:ADSK , indicating that the baseline - and deviations from the baseline - have been respected for that period of time, and whose boundaries are likely to continue to be respected. Depending on the channel, NASDAQ:ADSK has either crossed above the baseline, or has reached it. Will it crash back down, or use it as support? Using the Multi VWAP indicator we see that over the past month the stock has blasted through every Anchored VWAP initiating from every major gap over the past year, as well as the biggest gaps of the past 3 years. This is bullish. To crash back through the baseline of the regression channels and the anchored VWAPs considering that Autodesk has just recently recovering from a major crash seems less likely. Should the stock continue its trajectory and go to the top of the channel, it could hit $340 before in early Q3.

4/9/25 - $adsk - FYI/ probs a buy here low 240s4/9/25 :: VROCKSTAR :: NASDAQ:ADSK FYI/ probs a buy here low 240s - i'll keep the comments on single names short so we can move thru a lot in the next days/weeks - mid teens growth "prototyping" software, not any single industry exposed e.g. NASDAQ:CDNS for semis etc. - great ROICs >20% and high ROE's - cash gen of 2.2 bn on 52 bn EV is >4% yield, which given it's software is "good" and sub 25x PE for mid teens PE growth is "you'll make $ LT buying quality here" - when I look across all the "prototyping" names i follow, NSE:PTC probably ranks second, but i need lower to be enticed (also probs a buy, but not as clear as NASDAQ:ADSK here), NASDAQ:CDNS is too semi exposed for now, $snps/ NASDAQ:ANSS complicated but probably a buy... but similar to NSE:PTC i need lower. NASDAQ:SVCO is too small and complicated even tho upside cb tremendous. just can't take big position so it would be a distraction. NASDAQ:BSY is a clear stay away. hope it helps V

Autodesk May Be OversoldAutodesk has been advancing since the spring. Now some trend followers may see an opportunity in its latest dip. The first pattern on today’s chart is the bullish gap on November 6 after the Presidential Election. The software company has pulled back to test and hold its levels from before the surge, which may suggest support is in place. Prices are also trying to hold their 50-day simple moving average. That may suggest its intermediate-term trend is bullish. Third, stochastics have dropped to an oversold condition. Finally, ADSK fell last Wednesday despite beating estimates and nudging guidance higher. While sentiment may have been too optimistic leading into the release, has it now gotten too negative? Autodesk Squeezes After Strong ReportAutodesk has been squeezing near a two-year high, and some traders may expect a breakout soon. The first pattern on today’s chart is the attempted rally on March 1 after earnings, revenue and guidance beat estimates. A falling trendline appeared as the software company pulled back, but it’s now pushing above that resistance. Second, prices have held the rising 50-day simple moving average. That may reflect a bullish intermediate-term trend. Third, the 8-day-exponential moving average (EMA) recently crossed above the 21-day EMA. (See our 2 MA Ratio custom script in the lower study.) That may reflect a bullish short-term trend. Fourth, the December 27 high of $245.88 was ADSK’s peak all of last year. The stock bounced near that level on March 5. Has old resistance become new support? Next, stochastics are rebounding from an oversold condition. Finally, ADSK hasn’t been an actively traded stock for years because of its focus on markets like industrial design. However, management discussed AI potential in its last quarterly report.
