Ripple Labs and the SEC have ended their five-year legal battle over XRP, filing a Joint Stipulation of Dismissal with the US Court of Appeals, each covering their own costs.
The chance of the SEC approving an XRP ETF has dropped to 66%, the lowest since January, after a dissenting vote by Commissioner Crenshaw, despite some analysts predicting higher approval.
Ripple is acquiring Rail, a Toronto-based stablecoin platform, for $200 million. The deal, pending regulatory review, aims to enhance Ripple's infrastructure and boost XRP usage.

About XRP


One of the old timers of the cryptoverse, Ripple was founded in 2012 as a digital payment network for businesses and institutions. Kinda like crypto’s SWIFT, if you like. And its native token XRP earns brownie points for being one of the most environmentally friendly and cheap-to-transfer cryptos — which is good considering that’s its main use case. However, since 2020, Ripple has been caught up with the SEC due to selling XRP as an allegedly unregistered security, which has been a thorn in its side for a while.
